Laurie Chester, long time curator and custodian of the RAF Chapel at Biggin Hill, together with the Friends of St George’s are actively seeking photographs of anyone who served at the station during its long history. A brief description would be most helpful together with any anecdotes you may have concerning your Squadron and its association with Biggin Hill.
These, with your prior permission, could be included in our own newsletter and would also be kept in a permanent archive of similar photographs which has already been prepared. At this stage please do not send original photographs through the post, only copies as we know how valuable they are to the owners. Better still, if you able to visit the Chapel, arrangements will be made for the photographs to be copied and the originals returned.
Such fragments of history are important to us and future generations for unless they are recorded and kept they may be lost forever.
